Mrs. Willie Mae Singleton affectionally known as “Lady Strawberry” was born May 23, 1955 in Sumter to the late William Edward and Earline Mack Hilton. She was the wife of the late William Bill Singleton.
She was educated in the public school system of Sumter County.
Willie Mae was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church under the leadership of Reverend Daniel Hembree. She served on the following ministries, Communion, Steward, Golden Age Ministry, United Methodist Women, Hospitality, Golden Voice and other capacities that was asked of her.
Willie Mae worked for 35 years at Leo’s Wings. She was a great cook and she loved attending Bingo with her friends. She was the best sister in the world and would help anyone that was in need. She had a heart that was genuine and pure of Love.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Lou Anna, Mary Ann and Irene, one brother, William Hilton and grandparents, Aaron (Susan) Dennis.
She departed this life on Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Sumter.
Willie Mae leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Zenobia Singleton and Margie (Alvin) Reames; three sisters, Gloria Jean Hilton, Shiveen Hilton and Loutricia Hilton; three brothers, Micheal Hilton, Timothy Hilton and Curtis Hilton; two grandchildren; Marcina Williams and Micheal “MJ” Rogers; two aunts, Dorothy Mack of Baltimore, MD and Frances Hilton of Greelyville, SC; two uncles, Roman (Cynthia) Hilton and Lero (Vernell) Hilton; special friends, Betty Woods, Ann Timmons, Gwen Coleman, Deloris Conyers, Carolyn Lewis, Shirley Mack and Gracie Brown a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
