Ronald Delvonte’ Dawson, affectionately called "Vonte" the son of Antoinette Mitchell and Clarence Dawson was born on December 6, 1993 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center, Sumter SC.
He graduated from Culver City High School, Los Angeles, CA in 2012 and began his United States Air Force career on December 18, 2012. While serving in the military he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, North Atlantic Treaty Medal, 2014 Dedicated Crew Chief and 2018 Flying Crew Chief. He also deployed in support of Operations FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, RESOLUTE SUPPORT and FAITHFUL PATRIOT.
Vonte’ was a caring and hardworking man. He took pride in everything, specifically his love of cars. When Vonte’ found time away from work, he enjoyed reading, watching old movies, and volunteering in the community.
On December 16, 2020, while stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, he left this life at the young age of 27.
He was preceded in death by his Great Grandmother, Dorothy McBride and his Aunt, Wendy Williams.
Vonte’ leaves to cherish in his memory; his mother, Antoinette Mitchell of Madison, AL and his father, Clarence (Briana) Dawson of Columbia, SC; his grandparents, Bernice McBride of Madison, AL, William Singletary of Sumter, SC, Mattie Dawson of Dalzell, SC and Earl Dawson of Rembert, SC; six sisters, Candace Brooks of Sumter, SC, Chiquetta (LaTesha) Lane of Columbia, SC, Queacha (Deven) Bolden of York, SC, Shakyia McBride of Great Falls, MN, Tyjah McBride of Great Falls, MN, and Adrienne Chanel of Madison, AL; one brother, Nelson (Jessica) Daniels of Huntsville, AL; special friend, Gabriella Olvera of Abilene, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
