Ruby Bennett Dinkins, “Mama Ruby” as she was affectionally called by all who knew her, was born December 17, 1947 in Boykin, SC to the late Olden and Ellen Pollard Bennett, Sr.
Ruby was a high school graduate and upon completion of high school, worked a short while at Manchester Farm Quail and Hardee’s Restaurant. However, she spent the major part of her life as a homemaker.
Ruby was a faithful member of the Saint Mark Four Bridges Missionary Baptist Church. She loved God with her whole heart and loved as well as enjoyed going to church until her health declined. Whatever, she could do for God and the church she did.
In addition to her parents, “Mama Ruby” was preceded in death by two brothers, Isaac Bennett and Olden Bennett, Jr.; one grandson, Justin S. Workman.
“Mama Ruby” entered eternal rest on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in Sumter, SC.
“Mama Ruby” leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Sharon D. Sanders of the home and Shelia (Paul) Bradley of Sumter, SC; one son, Albert (Felicia) Dinkins, Jr. of Rembert, SC; one granddaughter, Danisha Walker; three grandsons, Anthony Robinson, Jr., Edwin I. Sanders and Donovan Holloman; one brother, William (Irene) Bennett of Rembert, SC; three sisters, Bessie Bolden, Mary Joyner and Margaret Patterson; four special children whom she reared, Talayshia Miller, Amyracle Gonzalez, Ty’a Miller and Kwashinki Spencer and a host of other relatives and friends.
