Minister Roger Prothro was born April 12, 1951 in New York City to the late Roger Prothro, Sr. and Gardenia Moore.
He attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He was raised in a Christian home and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at an early age. He was a faithful member of House of Faith for many years under the leadership of Pastor Emerald Glover. He also attended services at Palmetto Towel under the leadership of Pastor Gloria Smalls, serving as a great Pray Band Leader.
Roger favorite scripture is Psalms 91. His pray is for his family to get closer to each other and much closer to Christ because he is soon to come. His favorite song is “Can’t Nobody Do Me Like Jesus”.
Roger was married to Shirley Parker Prothro on February 12, 2004.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Wardell Moore, Jr and his stepfather.
Roger leaves to cherish his memories; his loving and devoted wife, Shirley Parker Prothro; three sons, Terrance Prothro, Jame Johnson and Justin Pearson; two daughters, Denice (Marcus) Lemon and Dorthia (Dontrell) Farmer; four brothers, Minister Jame (Denise) Prothro, Richard (Sharon) Prothro, Windell (Mechele) Moore and Franklin (Harriett) Moore; three sisters, Annie Mae Wilson, Geraldine Sanders and Bernadine (Robert) Moore; step-children, Dell Pearson, Cris Pearson, Shawn Pearson, Tyrone Hunt, Jerry Hunt, Sabrina Hunt and Brandon Hunt; six grandchildren and a host of neices, nephews other relatives and friends.
