Oleta Turner Pearson, 77, of Sumter, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Golden Age Senior Living Care, Kissimmee, FL.
She was born August 15, 1944, in Oswego, a daughter of the late Robert and Georgia Howard Turner.
She was formerly married to Otis Carolina and Roosevelt Pearson, both of whom preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Eastern High School with the class of 1962.
Oleta worked at Yuasa Exide until her retirement in 2001.
She was a member of St Mark Four Bridges Church in Sumter.
Oleta loved music. She loved to travel and was an avid cruiser. Most of all, she loved people and could always be counted on for a helping hand and words of encouragement. Oleta is survived by one sister, Olivia Wescott of Philadelphia, PA; one brother, Richard Turner of Sumter; two daughters, Teresa Thomas of Kissimmee, FL and Michele Liburd of Mableton, GA; three grandchildren, Tonza, Gavin, and Christina; 5 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
