Louvenia Conyers was born on February 6, 1940 in Summerton SC to the late Clara Bell Gipson. She was adopted as an infant and reared by Henry Conyers and Reverend Virginia Garris Conyers.
Louvenia was educated in Sumter County Public schools and was a graduate of Lincoln high school in Sumter SC.
Sister Conyers worked at the Sumter Laundry Dry Cleaning and later to Becton and Dickerson where she retired. She was a devoted and faithful member of Saint Matthew Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter where she served faithfully in many capacities including: gospel choir, senior usher served under Reverend M.G. Walters and later under the leadership of Reverend Calvin K. Hastie, Sr.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Gipson Jr.
She departed this earthly life to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2021 in Sumter South Carolina.
She leaves to cherish her memory; a special daughter, Sophia Cooper (James Cooper) Sr; six sisters, Edna R. Wright of Greensboro North Carolina, Julie M. (Sam) Morrisette of New Jersey, Pauline Wilson of Sumter, South Carolina, Isemell Gipson of New Jersey, Debra Irving of New Jersey, and Joann (Nelson) Vizcarrondo of Greensboro, North Carolina; five brothers; Willie (Lillie) Thomas of Florida, John Gipson of New Jersey, Nathan Gipson of New Jersey, Willie Albert Gipson of Atlanta Georgia and a host of aunts , uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends a special nephew Jimmy Crawford.
