Louis Singleton was born in Sumter, South Carolina, on September 14, 1951 to the late Sanders and Delia Bracey Singleton. He was the 13th of 15 children.
Louis was formally educated in Sumter County. He graduated Sumter High School, Class of 1970.
He worked several jobs in Sumter, from Crescent Tools and Exide Battery, Inc. for several years before relocating to Newark, Delaware. While in Delaware he worked at the Domino’ Pizza Inc., and Delaware Moving & Storage Company before returning back to Sumter.
Louis enjoyed watching tv also doing yardwork as his health permitted. He was known for maintaining a neat home as well as, his impeccable style of dress. He enjoyed family gatherings, and early morning calls to check on others.
In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by nine of his siblings; Wade, Carrie Mae, Maceo, John, Thomas, Earl, Benjamin, William, and Hattie.
Louis departed this life on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, with his loved ones by his side.
He leaves to cherish his memories one daughter, Angela Davis of Smyrna, TN; three sisters; Darcus Stewart of Woodbridge, VA., Sarah Griggs of Columbus , GA., and Rhetta Sanders of Sumter, S.C.; two brothers, James Singleton of Greenville, S.C. and Gaynard Singleton of Sumter, S.C.; and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
