Louada Russell Nelson was born June 6, 1951, to the late Lillian Ford Choice and the late JC Amos Sr. She was reared by the late Marion and Sudie Hastie and Timothy Hastie Sr. in Sumter, South Carolina.
Louada was educated in the public school system of Sumter County. After graduation she worked at Carolina Furniture Works. After leaving Carolina Furniture she worked at Tuomey Health Care until she retired.
Louada was joined in Holy matrimony to Herbert Lee Nelson.
Louada joined the body of Christ at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She served faithfully on the Deaconess Board, the choir, the Usher Board, the YWA and Sunday School. Louada was a caring and sweet person. Whatever she could do to help anyone , she would be there. Outside of God, her family was everything to her.
In addition to her parents Louada was preceded in death by one sister Gwendolyn Shaw and three brothers Cleveland Hastie, Sammie Lee Choice, Willie James Ford, and Earnest Choice.
Louada departed this earthly life on Saturday July 3, 2021, in Sumter, South Carolina.
Louada leaves to cherish beautiful memories, her husband Herbert Lee Nelson of the home, one daughter, April (Jean Daniel) Fortin and one grandson, Daniel Lee Fortin all of Debary, Florida; two sisters, Roberta June and Frances (Gus) Moss; four brothers, JC (Marie) Amos Jr., Matthew Amos, Herbert Choice and Robert Choice; four sisters in laws, Mary Tomlin, Martha Pringle, Dorothy Nelson and Alethia Nelson; two aunts, Catherine Green and Clara Ford and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
