Lester Reed

Obituary

Mr. Lester Reed was born November 12, 1979 in Kingstree, SC to Mr. Andrew M. Reed and the late Elsie M. Pendergrass - Reed.

He was educated in the public schools of Clarendon County and received a South Carolina GED in 1995. At an early age, Lester attended the Progressive Church of Jesus, Manning, SC.

Lester was employed by Iril’s Auto Repair, Sumter, SC and an avid self-employed graphics designer. He especially  enjoyed assisting others.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Reed, three siblings, Perry, Angela and Letina, paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Mack and Annie Reed, maternal grandparents  Deacon James (Ruth Dingle Pendergrass) and Mildred  Pendergrass Sr., three aunts: Mamie L. Carraway, Ida L. Burgess and Rosa L. Goodwin, and one uncle, James   Pendergrass, Jr.

Lester departed this earthly life on Monday, April 5, 2021.

Those left to cherish his memories include four daughters: Malaysha Cowell and Brianna Montalbano of Sumter, SC, Kinzy and Kaidyn Reed of Dalzell, SC, two sons: Carmeron Reddick and Jayden Reed of Lugoff, SC, one godson: Derrick Sanders of Sumter, SC; his father: Mr. Andrew Reed of Thomasville, NC: siblings: Timothy Reed, Sr. of Winston- Salem, NC, Anthony (Samantha) Reed, Sumter, SC and  Curtis Reed of Manning, SC, two sisters: Carolyn Reed-Bradley of Manning, SC and Latasha (Jessie) Calvin of  Alcolu, SC, three uncles: John (Rose) Reid of Thomasville, NC, Jerome (Carolyn) Pendergrass and Charles (Rosa)   Pendergrass, both of Manning, SC, five aunts: Ethel Fulton and Charlotte McCready, both of Baltimore, MD, Mamie (Johnny) McFadden, Helen Hamlet, Bobbie Pendergrass, all of Manning, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, relative and friends.
