Mrs. Ella Rose Hayward was born in Clarendon County October 1, 1934 she was the seventh of fourteen children born to the late Jimmie McCoy and Darkie Davis. She was a devoted member of Congruity Presbyterian Church in Gable South Carolina.
Mrs. Ella who was affectionately called Rose by her family and friends received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. She went on to become a CNA at Hampton Nursing Home and retired after over 20 years of service to her community.
Mrs. Ella Rose was preceded in death on January 31, 2009 by her late husband Samuel Hayward Sr. who resided in Philadelphia PA. To this loving union six children were born. She was a phenomenal woman and lived a life of value that showed in everything she did because of how she did it. She was a dedicated servant of God with praying hands. She will always be remembered by her giving spirit and joyous attitude. She welcomed into her life of love everyone friends and family. She had an affectious smile, and you were sure to get an honest laugh in her presence.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Mack Arthur McCoy, her daughter Isabella Shannon, seven brothers, Malachi Davis, Frank Davis, Ben Davis, Jerimiah Daivs, Jimmie McCoy, Willie McCoy, Dave McCoy and five sisters, Kathleen Green, Maggie Skipper, Sarah Evans, Edith Reed, and Mary Ann McCoy.
She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, peacefully at home in Sumter, South Carolina.
She leaves to cherish precious memories four children, Samuel Hayward (Karen), Lewis Earl Hayward (Virginia), Carolyn Hayward (Norman), Anderson Hayward (Andrea). A son in love Andrew Kennedy and daughter in love Linda Brown. Grandchildren Elonda Blyther, Santana Hayward, Dennis Hayward, Nashmia Fields, Omar Hayward, Lanease Humes (Freeman), Shontel Hayward, Portia White (Antwan), Javon Lewis Hayward, Samuel Hayward the third, Samantha Hayward, Janicka Smith-Watson (Anthony), Curtis Smith (Jess), and Zandre Smith. She leaves behind one sister Mary Jane McCoy, sister in laws Marie Davis, Geneva McCoy, and Mary E McCoy. In addition, twenty-four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
