Ms. Dorothy Mae Kennedy was born July 14, 1931 in Sumter, SC to the late Bowman and Beatrice Ballard Pack.

She received her education in the public schools of Sumter County.

She was a devoted mother to her son, James Kennedy who was born May 3, 1955 and June 11, 2015 he preceded her in death.

She departed this life on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in Sumter, SC.

She leaves to cherish her memories; a granddaughter, Latisha Renee Nelson of Charlotte, NC; a grandson, Justin Jerod Stephens of Chester, SC; three great-grandchildren, Freyan Anderson of Albany, NY, Jazmiya Nelson and Malik Nelson of Charlotte, NC; one great-great granddaughter, Kenzley Anderson of Albany, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
