Clyde Boatwright was born on June 4, 1954, in Manning, SC to the late Edmond Boatwright, Sr and Mary Anna Green  Boatwright.

Clyde attended the public schools of Manning County. He was raised in a Christian home. At an early age with his family, he joined Fellowship Baptist Church. He loved his church and served faithfully wherever he was needed.

Clyde moved to Jersey City, NJ in the early 1970’s. He joined No That Neighbor of Church in Jersey City where he was a Deacon. He was employed for twenty-five years at Saddle Aluminum Corporation in Secaucus, NJ, where he retired in 2010. Throughout his life he was passionate about  working on cars, spending time with his family and friends.

Clyde devoted his love and later went on to marry the love of his life, Patricia Jones Boatwright on September 2, 1971. They were a beautiful union, where they planted the lives of their children and family in Jersey City, NJ on Clerk Street. There they Shaked a bond of love throughout the many wonderful years. He was a hard-working man; he was a provider to his family and  always enjoyed helping those in need. He never said NO! His AKA name was “Partner” and to his son's “Popa Smurf”.

In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by five brothers, Leroy Boatwright, Terrance Boatwright, John Boatwright, Eddie Lee Boatwright and Edmond Boatwright, Jr, three sisters, Hattie Turner, Mary Osborne Boatwright and Josephine Boatwright.

Clyde departed this earthly life on Saturday, September 4, 2021, in Sumter.

Clyde leaves to cherish his life memories, his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Patricia Boatwright; six sons, Clyde Jones, Eulas (Latrice) Boatwright, Philip (Yadi) Boatwright, Troy (Tunisha) Boatwright, Danny (Gabriella)   Boatwright and Tedwood (Melissa) Boatwright; step-mother, Mary Jane Belser Boatwright; adopted son, Dwain Johnson; three brothers,  Edmond Boatwright, Jr, James (Alicia) Boatwright and George (Audrey) Boatwright; six sisters, Daisy (Alfred) Pearson, Runette (Buster) Eady, Anna Benjamin, Gloria (Robert) Lucas, Janet Belser and Vertina (Timothy) Dinkins; twenty-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews,      cousins, other relatives and friends.
