Mrs. Clinnie Ruth White Wilder was born August 17, 1952 in Sumter to the late Minnie Lee Byrd Reese and Abraham Cocklin. Her biological father was the late Hazel White Jr., but Abraham Cocklin raised her as his own. He was called “Wax“ by Clinnie.
Clinnie Ruth was educated in the public school system of Sumter County. Her professional background consisted of private eldercare services for over thirty years. Clinnie’s passion was her faith and family. She was a longtime member of the church where she accepted her Lord and Savior and was baptized the same time as her father Abraham Cocklin at Salem Missionary Baptist Church by Reverend T.O. Everett. During her service for the Lord, Clinnie sang on the Jubilee Choir, the adult choir and she also taught vacation bible school. Later she joined the Rapture Ministry singing ensemble where she continued to lift the Lord’s name in Praise. In her spare time, Clinnie created beautiful pieces of arts and crafts and loved her search-a-word-puzzles.
