Obituary Mr. Willie Lee Mobley was born December 18, 1942 in Pinehurst, GA to the late Daisy Wilcox Mobley Davis and the late Monroe Mobley, Sr.He served in the United States Air Force for twenty-three (23) years from 1962 to 1985 with his last position of Material Facilities Supervisor at Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC. Willie's first duty station was in Weisbaden, Germany, where he met and married his wife, Elisabeth Ingensandt. From there he was stationed in Vandenburg AFB, CA and then one tour in Thailand in support of the Vietnam War.He received a Vietnam Service Medal, a National Defense Service Medal and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. After he left Thailand, he was stationed at Rhein Main AFB in Frankfurt, Germany. He then was stationed in Dover, DE and his final station of duty, Shaw AFB, Sumter.Upon retiring from the USAF, Willie started a civil service career for the Air Force at Shaw AFB, SC as a Material Control, Chief Purchasing Agent for Civil Engineering for the next twenty (20) plus years. He retired from Civil Service in 2009.Willie loved gardening, picking fruits and vegetables and cooking, however, his favorite past time was playing pinochle with his buddies at the club on the base or at the "hut". He was a member of American Legion Post 202.Willie loved sharing his stories and life experiences. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and visiting with his brothers and sisters in Georgia.In addition to his wife and parents, Willie was preceded in death by a brother, Walter B. Mobley, Sr.; two sisters, Brydie Lee Mobley Belvin and Almeta Mobley Davis.Willie transitioned from this life on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Clinton, MD.Willie leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Jacklyn Wilhelmine Talley (Steven) of Clinton, MD, Betina Mobley Bell (Christopher) of Youngsville, NC and Silvia Ross of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren, Steven James (Julia) Talley, Jr., Kevin William (Amanda) Talley, Brandon Rondell Byrd, Brielle Elisabeth Byrd, Jade Noel Talley, Kristina Mariya Proctor (Antione), Jordan Emily Bell, William Lorenz Ross and Dallas Christian Bell; great grandchildren, Jahmeire Malik Byrd, Sophia Isabella Talley, Samiyah Elisabeth Proctor and Sommer Raychel Talley; four brothers, M L Mobley, Monroe Mobley, Jr., James Edward Mobley and Andrew Mobley; sisters, Viola Mobley Askew, Calreatha Mobley Taylor, Daisy Pearl Mobley Nelson and Shirlene Mobley Davis, MD and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
