Willie Lee Bennett, the son of the late Robert Lee and Essie Mae Wright Bennett was born on June 10, 1952, in Sumter, South Carolina Willie also known as "Beasley" attended the public schools of Sumter County and was a 1971 graduate of Lincoln High School. While in school, he ran track and played football for the high school Bulldogs. Willie worked and retired from Peace Textile Inc. of Sumter, South Carolina. "Beasley" loved his family and friends. In addition to his parents "Beasley was preceded in death by his three sisters, Dorothy Bennett, Blondell Bennett, and Delphine Bennett. Willie aka "Beasley" departed this life on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at his home in Sumter, South Carolina. Willie leaves to cherish his memories, two brothers; Robert (Gloria) Bennett, and Edward (Eleanor) Bennett, three sisters; Mary F. McCoy, Barbara (Woodrow) McFadden and Julie Bennett-Tisdale; his memories will also be cherished by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
