William Smith, Jr. was born on July 8, 1965, in Sumter, SC to the late William Smith Sr. and Mary Lee Johnson Smith. He departed this life on Thursday March 9,2023 in the comforts of his home. William Smith Jr. attended the public schools of Sumter County and graduated from Hillcrest High School. After graduating high school, William entered into the work force, employed by Carolina furniture, VB Williams, Santee Print, Pilgrim's Pride, and Ramsey's Demolition. Williams was known as a complex, dedicated worker and jack of all trades. Williams was one that didn't say a lot, but he was always a joy to be around. He loved watching wrestling, westerns and sports. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, two loving brothers; David and Carl Smith both of Sumter, SC. seven aunts; Gennett (Lawrence) Singleton of New Orleans, who was also his devoted caregiver, Daisy (Cornelius) Clay of New London, CT, Marie Gray of Plainfield, CT, Irene (Pelzer) Goodwater of Holly Hill, SC, Betty Council, Mary Lou (Frank) Maple, and Mary Smith all of Sumter, SC; three nieces Davianna Smith, Cherelle Smith, and Angel Smith all of Sumter, SC; a close friend, James Ramsey of Sumter, SC and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends. William Smith Jr. was a quiet humble soul that will truly be missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Rickey Lee Smith
