Obituary

https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/wanda-hunter Wanda Machelle Hunter was born on May 14, 1971, in Wedgefield, South Carolina to Vermelle Duncan Holliday and the late Solomon Holliday, Jr. Wanda attended the public schools of Sumter County District 2 and was a member of the Hillcrest High School Class of 1989. After high school, Wanda continued her education by attending Morris College in Sumter. She later completed a Bachelor of Arts degree while living in Oswego, Illinois. As a child, Wanda was always very humble and obedient. She began her walk with God at Orangehill AME Church in Wedgefield. She later attended Bibleway Church of Atlas Road in Columbia. Wanda was baptized and spirit filled. She had a profound gift of prophetic dance. Wanda enjoyed great occupational success, reaching the high levels of corporate leadership with the McDonald's Corporation. She served there for over 25 years. After retiring, she purchased and opened a hair and beauty supply store. God blessed her in that business as well. Wanda had one son, Joshua Hunter, a blessing from her earlier union with Mr. Rodney Hunter. She later found companionship with her spouse, James Haltek. On Sunday, October 9, 2022, Wanda transitioned from this earth to be with the Lord. She was preceded in death by her father, Solomon Holliday, Jr., stepfather, Paul Whittleton; and her paternal and maternal grandparents. Wanda leaves to cherish her memory her son, Joshua Hunter; his father, Rodney Hunter; her spouse, James Haltek, all of Oswego, IL; her loving mother, Vermelle Whittleton, Sumter, SC; one sister, Stacey Nicole (Matthew) McCutcheon, Columbia, SC; special aunt, Isabella Taylor; other aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, co-workers, customers, other relatives and friends. Wanda was a blessing to all who knew her. She was loved by all, and an inspiration and role model to many. She was proof that God can richly bless a life. Wanda lived a full life. Although we will miss her dearly, we know we will see her again in heaven.
