On Sunday morning, September 21, at 8:30 AM, Steve transitioned this life at home surrounded by his devoted wife and family. He was born May 24, 1958, in Sumter County to the deceased parents, Rufus Davis, Sr. and Ida Mae Davis. He was a graduate of Mayewood High School; thereafter he worked several jobs in the workforce. He grew up as a child with Mulberry Baptist Church Family and later joined Mulberry Baptist Church, where he attended and called home. He left behind a devoted wife, Sweet Hazel Davis; three children: Mahalia Davis, Zipporah (Zipp) Davis, Yzah Davis; two grandsons, Bryson and Braiden; ten siblings, Olivia Williams, deceased; Rebecca Jenkins, Janette McBride, Harry Davis, Christopher Davis, deceased; Charles Davis, Delphinia Moses, Rufus Davis Jr., Thomas Davis, and Gail Tharp; three living brothers-in-law: Larry Jenkins, Jerel Moses and Jeff Tharp; and one living sister-in-law, Jane Davis; and a host of cousins, nephews, and relatives.
