Ulysses Lasalle (Munk) Preston was born on April 7, 1975 to the late Rebecca Deloris Preston and George Carter in Sumter, South Carolina. After graduating from Sumter High School in 1993, Lasalle went on to study computer electronics at Nielson College in Charleston, South Carolina. Thereafter, Lasalle kickstarted a career in manufacturing with Metokote Corporation. His career ended with the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Lasalle spent his early life playing basketball and was a true sports fanatic. His favorite team was the Lakers. He was a dedicated hard worker, who adored his only son, a big brother that protected his siblings, and enjoyed days watching ESPN. Lasalle was truly loved and will be dearly missed. In addition to his parents, Lasalle was preceded in death by his grandparent, Pearl Preston; uncles, Prince Carter, Abraham Carter, Sydney Carter, Edward Carter, Jimmy Preston, and James Preston Jr.; and aunts, Carol Preston and Edna Ruth Gamble. Ulysses departed this life on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, in West Columbia, South Carolina. Precious memories will be cherished by his son, Ulysses Lasalle Preston Jr. of Bishopville, SC; brother, Antonio Ramsey of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Felicia Ramsey of Sumter, SC and Elizabeth Cuffie of Patterson, NJ; aunts, Annie Margaret Williams of Darlington, SC and Pearl Carter of Patterson, NJ; uncles, MC (Stanley) Preston and Walter Preston; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
