Johnson and the late Mary Sharpe Johnson.Torin was a 2012 graduate of Crestwood High School and was employed with International Paper. He was a member of St. James Holiness Church, where he served with the Men's Auxiliary and the Adult Usher Board.Torin had a great love for his family and friends and, in turn, was greatly loved by them. People were drawn to his personality and smile. Those who knew him described him as kind, respectful, caring, and mannerable. He was a young man with a humble laughter. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting.In addition to his mother, Torin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Solomon and Mary Gadson Johnson and his maternal grandfather, Jessie James.Torin departed this life on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, as a result of an automobile accident.Left to cherish precious memories are his father, Verlyn Johnson of the home; his maternal grandmother, Janie Mae Sharpe James of Hartford, CT; uncles, Solomon Jr. (Genise) Johnson and Arnold (Gwendolyn) Johnson of Sumter, Gerald James of Hartford CT, Rodney Wilson of New Haven, CT, and Larry (Francine) Hunter and Ricky Hunter of Sumter, SC ; aunts, Pastor Alfreda Johnson of Sumter, Sherilyn James and Vivian James of Hartford, CT, Cassie Moore, Patricia (James) Williams, Mary McCray, and Lois (Eddie) White all of Sumter, SC; grand-uncles, Richard Sharpe of Charlotte, NC, John Hilliard of Richmond, VA, Arnold Hunter of Brooklyn, NY, James (Edna) McFadden of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Willie (Evelyn) Gadson of Charleston, SC; grand-aunts, Josephine Perry and Betty Moody of Hartford, CT, Joanne Thorton of Richmond, VA, Lois Hunter of Eutawville, SC, Sadie Sharpe, Elizabeth Johnson, of Sumter, SC, Lenell Gadson of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Fannie Rumph of Mt.
