Thomas Carlton Pringle, Sr., was born on June 11, 1954, to the late Manning and Juanita Glover Pringle in Sumter, South Carolina. He was the second child of four children. Thomas was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and was a graduate of Sumter High School, Class of 1972. Thomas was raised in the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. In May of 1974, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country for four years. While serving, he received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and several Sharpshooter Badges. Thomas was honorably discharged. He worked for the SC Department of Corrections, as well as the Holly Hill Police Department. Thomas was a warm and jovial person who enjoyed fishing and professional baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves. He enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by two brothers, Manning Pringle, Jr. and Anthony Pringle. Thomas departed this life on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in Summerton, South Carolina. Thomas leaves to cherish his memories, one son, Thomas C. Pringle, Jr. of Richmond, Virginia; two daughters, Shanekia Pringle of Anderson, South Carolina and Ella Harley of Lithonia, Georgia; two sisters, Theresa (Quintus, Sr.) Wrighten and Felicia Pringle Maple, both of Sumter, South Carolina; nephews, Dr. Quintus F. Wrighten, Sr. of Columbia, South Carolina and Anthony S. Wrighten of Sumter, South Carolina; niece, Kaila J. Wrighten; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.
