He was the first and only son of four blessings born to the late Willie Stokes, Jr. and Rosa J. Stokes. Steven had a gift in song and was gifted in academics in that he was to be skipped pass 6th to the 7th grade. He received trophies in elementary school for basketball. He was educated in the Public school's system of the Bronx, New York. He attained his High School Diploma. Steven was employed by the New York State Parks Department and New York City Housing Authority as a maintenance worker. Steven considered himself a sportsman who loved playing and watching basketball along with watching Champion fights with his father, the late Willie Stokes, Jr. He also enjoyed watching basketball and, debating over players and games with his nephews. He was a music lover, enjoyed Family gatherings and he loved, loved his Mother's good cooking! After fifty- nine years of life, the Lord called him to his Heavenly Home on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Steven leaves to cherish his precious memories, his loving and devoted mother, Rosa J. Stokes of Bronx, New York; four sisters; Wileen Stokes of Gray Court, SC, Yolanda Stokes of Brooklyn, NY, Sabrina Miller of Rosedale, NY and Crystal Jones; one brother-In-law, George Jones of Bronx, NY; six nephews, Lonique Alexander, Lanelle Miller, Samuel Miller, George Jones, Jr., Quanelle Miller, Jerimiah Miller and Stephen Jones; all of New York; two Nieces, Sharie Dismond and Gecelle Jones both of Bronx, NY; one grand nephew, Jaleel Farmer; two grand nieces, London Johnson and Haelyn Johnson all of Bronx, NY; one grand aunt, Esther Johnson of New York, NY and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
