Shirley Louise Williams was born April 4, 1961 to the late John and Rebecca Grant Williams. Shirley was known as "Shirley Mae". She was educated in public schools of Sumter County. She began her career at BB Williams furnishing company and later went on to work with Gold Kist where she spent many years. Shirley had a strong personal relationship with God and was a faithful member of the Upper Room Pentecostal Holiness Temple in Sumter, SC. Shirley would always go above and beyond for anyone. She was a people person. She loved caring for children and the elderly. She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Albert Williams, Charles Williams, Ernest Williams, John Green and Tyrone Williams. Shirley gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter, SC. She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her beloved children; Jerry (Ruth) Williams, Denise Williams, Jarrell (Uvonne) Cooper and Laqutta Cooper all of Sumter, SC; four sisters, Mattie Rembert, Janie (Tommie) Jones both of Sumter, Vickie James of Timmonsville, SC and Shana Woods of Lamar, SC; two brothers, James Williams and Edward Williams of Sumter, SC; one sister-in-law, Eartha Williams, her memory shall also live on through her eight grandchildren, whom she affectionally loved and care for, she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
