Obituary Rev. Dr. Sadie Felicia Cain Jeter was born on January 30, 1933 to the late James Witherspoon Cain and Annie Elizabeth McCoy Cain in Sumter, South Carolina.She received her early education from St. Matthews School. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School. She earned higher education degrees, Masters' and Honorary Doctor of Divinity.Her walk with God began at an early age at Goodwill Presbyterian Church, and Sumter Second Presbyterian Church.She was formerly married to the late Charner Jeter, Jr. From this union, four daughters were born and raised in Spartanburg, South Carolina. She then joined with her husband at Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church in Spartanburg.She attended USC Upstate School of Nursing, became a Licensed Practical Nurse, later graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Spartanburg Memorial (later renamed Regional) Hospital until she retired after 30+ years of Nursing. After moving back to Sumter in her later years, she was a Counselor and Chaplain at Tuomey Hospital.Ministry of Rev. Jeter included being ordained a Deacon and Elder in the A.M.E. Zion Church. She pastored the Bethel #1 A.M.E. Zion Church in the Spartanburg District, Beaver Creek A.M.E. Zion Church in the Columbia-Camden District. She served as Conference Evangelist at Temple of God and later at Clinton Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, Columbia-Camden District, Palmetto Annual Conference. She was a member of the National Council of Negro Women Sumter chapter. She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Catherine, Vermell, Naomi, Wilhelmina, Gladys, Flora, Jessie, James and Clarence, and one great grandson (Baby Xavier).Rev. Dr. Sadie Felicia Cain Jeter entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 after a long illness.She leaves to cherish her love and fond memories: her four daughters "Sadie's daughters", Ms. Patricia Jeter-Rice (Boiling Springs, SC), Ms. Floretta J. Norris (West Chester, OH), Mrs. Gloria J. (James) Kennedy (Spartanburg, SC) and Mrs. Jacqueline J. (Jesse) Turner (West Chester, OH); one brother, Mr. Timothy B. Cain, Jr (Eugenia/Bay), Sumter; former sister-in law Mrs. Fannie S. Jeter; she also leaves to cherish loving and fond memories of ("Grandma"), eleven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces,nephews, great nieces/nephews, and special friends.
