Obituary

Roosevelt Mack, affectionately known as "Bo" or "Mack", husband of Theresa Mack, was born on Friday, March 24, 1972, in Sumter, SC, to the late James and Lillie Mae Duffie Mack.   Roosevelt accepted Christ as his personal Savior in his youth. He was employed at Gold Kist for over twenty-five years. Roosevelt was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, and he graduated from Adult Education. He was united in holy matrimony on October 23, 1999, to Theresa Robinson Roosevelt was a loving, caring, and devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. Roosevelt enjoyed helping his family. He had an infectious laugh like no other. He loved watching Tom Brady play football and Lebron James play basketball.  Roosevelt was preceded in death by his parents; grandmother, Rebecca Bracey; three brothers, Willie Mack Jr., Marion Bracey, and Robert Duffie; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Mack and Katherine Bracey; one brother-in-law, Charles Smith; mother-in-law, Janet Smoot Robinson; four aunts, Annie Mae McMillian, Loretta Simmons, Hattie Clines Duffie, and Julia Mack; and seven uncles, Marvin Duffie, Joe Simmons, Roosevelt Simmons, Willie Mack, Eddie Cook, Walter McMillian, and Holland Mack.   On Thursday afternoon, November 30, 2023, Roosevelt answered the call of his name from our Heavenly Father and slipped peacefully into eternal rest.  Left to cherish his loving memory is his devoted wife of 24 years, Theresa Mack; three brothers, Jessie Mack of Sumter, South Carolina, Retired Master Sgt. Willie (Sharon) Mack of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Oliver (Virginia) Grass of California; three sisters, Magdalene Mack of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Maxine Smith of Tampa, Florida, and Virginia Mack of Sumter, South Carolina; three devoted nieces who helped care for him, Virginia, Linda, and Shirley Bracey all of Sumter, South Carolina; special niece and nephew who grew up with him, Dawn Carter and Charles Smith both of Tampa, Florida; three stepchildren, Steven (Janita) Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, and Shakeisha Johnson, all of Sumter, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Holiday and Canty (Pamela) Robinson, both of Sumter, South Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
