Ronald "Ron" S. Hudson was born on April 1, 1957, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Josephine Green Hudson and the late Robert Hudson, Jr. Ron was baptized as an infant at Ascension Presbyterian Church (now Ascension Peace) where he sang in the children choir's and was active with children ministry. Ron was a 1975 graduate of Sumter High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy as a Communications Specialist. After receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Sumter and enrolled in Sumter Area Technical College majoring in Business Management Marketing. Ron was employed by HD Smith Furniture Store, Sumter Spinners, Crescent Tool, Zayres Department Store, and Gary Fronrath. Early in his car salesman career, Ron went into partnership with Gary Fronrath the top General Motors dealer in Broward County. At the time of his death, Ron was employed by Lauderdale BMW of Pembroke Pines as automobile salesman. Ron was an avid sports fan, who enjoyed watching the Miami Heat perform. He was a music enthusiast who played the trumpet, sousaphone, and guitar. Ron was a four-year member of Sumter High School Marching Band. When not working, he loved to relax by gardening and taking care of his yard. He also enjoyed getting together frequently with relatives for barbecues on the back patio. There was never a dull moment with Ron, he loved entertaining his family and friends. Ronald S. Hudson, the husband of Vivian Hunter Hudson, departed this life on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Cleveland Clinic Florida-Weston Hospital in Weston, FL. Ron is survived by his wife, Vivian Hunter Hudson of Fort Lauderdale, FL; children, Joshua D. Hudson of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Crystal Lana Hudson of Atlanta, GA; and fur babies, Buddy Love and Kit Kat; mother, Josephine G. Hudson, of Sumter, SC; mother-in-law, Susie Hunter of Fort Lauderdale, FL; sisters, Sandra Y. (Donald) White and Michelle A. Brunson of Sumter, SC; brother, Bryant R, Hudson of Sumter, SC; sister-in law, Elizabeth (William) Carter of Lauderdale Lakes, FL; brothers-in-law, Gregory (Barbara) Hunter of Hallandale, FL and Darrell (Sherri) Hunter of West Palm Beach, FL; nieces, Jasmine N.
