He was the husband of Jessica Laura Small. Rodney grew up in the Cherryvale Community and spent some of his youth in Raeford, NC. He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, SC. Because of his love for his family and due to his desire to help others, Rodney began working and had various jobs during his lifetime. Rodney worked at Santee Print, Pizza Hut, Domino's Pizza, Auto Money, Security Finance, Heritage Finance, Amazon, JD Byrider, and Rent-A-Center. He also traveled the state of SC for work. Rodney had a passion for finance and helped many while working in those positions. Rodney was a six-year member of Sumter Hell's Egos, where he was affectionately known as "Dirty South". He served as Vice-President. Rodney was an all-around "GREAT MAN". If he could help you, he would. He truly loved his family and friends. Rodney Walden "R.W., Dirty South" Small, Jr. passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at 4:36 PM at Prisma Health Richland, Columbia, SC, due to injuries sustained as a result of a motorcycle collision. Rodney leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Jessica Laura Small, who he loved dearly; one son, Cpl. Tyler Preusser of Camp Lejune, NC; four daughters, Laura Morris, of the home, Brianna Small, Hailey Small, and Fe'Eveah Wilson, all of Sumter, SC; two daughters reared as his own, Briannah Morris and Chelsea Morris, both of Sumter, SC; one brother, Michael Small of TN; two sisters-in-law, Tiffany (Randy) Woodmansee and Brittany Whitehill, of Jamestown, NY; special friends, Cheneathia "Baby Momma" Caesar, Andrew Caesar, Chris Saxby, The Tisdale Family, Stacy Archie, and Hell's Egos; along with a host of other relative and friends.
