Robert Heyward Sr, son of the late James Heyward and Ethel Mae James Heyward was born on September 17, 1943 in Sumter, South Carolina. Robert received his education in the public schools of Sumter County. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and became an active member of Orange Hill A.M.E Church. He served faithfully until his health declined. He was also an avid Pittsburg Steeler fan, devoted father, grandfather, son, brother and friend. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son, Jammia L. Heyward; and a sister, Rebecca Heyward Williams. Robert Heyward departed this life on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Robert leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Gwendolyn (Elbert) Daniels of North Prince George, Virginia; son, Robert (Quatika) Heyward of Greenville, South Carolina; three sisters, Susan (Charles) Gayle, Ethel Brand, and Edith Vaughn; three brothers, Harold (Leticia) Heyward, Herbert (Denise) Heyward, and James Heyward, all of Sumter, South Carolina; special friend, Sheila Boykin, and her son, Troy; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
