Obituary Robert Lee Richardson, widower of Margie Lee Richardson, was born on September 20, 1934, in Mayesville, S.C. to the late Elijah Richardson and the late Lena McClary Richardson.Robert, affectionately called "Man" and "Big Rit", was educated in the public schools of South Carolina. He was brought up in a Christian home, where he was introduced to the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted him as his savior. He became a life member of Trinity Presbyterian Church USA of Mayesville, SC.He was employed as a truck driver for Bill Mays Farming Company for many years until his health declined. Robert loved driving and traveling. His favorite hobby was driving different styles of cars with big rims, white wall tires and speed. His favorite car, a White Mercury with wide white wall tires, was always ready for the road.In the sixties, he had a stroke which did not stop him from living life and helping others. After going to therapy, he started driving again. He loved sitting in his car and watching the people. He would often give them a ride to get food, go to the doctor or just simply go to the store.Robert moved to New York and married the apple of his eyes, Margie Lee Marshall, and they shared over fifty years of marriage together.Robert was preceded in death by his parents; Elijah and Lena Richardson, his wife; Margie Lee Richardson, a son; Irvin Marshall, a sister; Janie L. Richardson, two nephews; Eugene Nedd and Albert Richardson, a niece; Ann Lawson, and a sister-n-law; Elizabeth Richardson.Robert departed this life on Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Palmetto Richland Health Center, Columbia, SC.Robert leaves to cherish his loving memories: a son; Harrel (Mable) Marshall, Sr. of Mayesville, SC, three daughters; Rev. Oliver, Fontaye Marshall, Ishmael Marshall, Marvin Wilson and Myesheia Cox- Flowers, all of Sumter, SC, Rodney T. Cox, Sr., St. Cloud, Florida, Elexis Gillette of Chula Vista, California, and SGT Jamel Baldwin of Raeford, NC, daughter-n-law; Willie Mae Marshall of Sumter, SC, two sisters; Mary Lee Lawson and Elizabeth Nedd both of Mayesville, SC, two brothers; James Richardson of Sumter, SC, and Otis (Hennie) Richardson, of Jersey City, NJ, a sister-n-law; Noami W. Hudson of Sumter, SC, a brother-n-law; Charles Wilson of Olympia, Washington, stepmother-n-law; Addie S. Wilson, of Ellenwood, GA, two special cousins; Hallie McClary of New York, NY and Winston Show of Philadelphia, PA, three nieces he helped to raise; Carolyn Commander, Marie Harry, and Jenette Evans, special neighbors; Robert (Jessie) Washington Sr., Robert Washington, Jr., James Washington, Walter (Neola) Davis Sr. and Willie Green all of Mayesville, SC, special caregivers; Dora Dean Lawson, Hattie McGill, and Leola McFadden and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
