Robert Lee Nesbitt was born February 12, 1942, in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Charlotte Croskey Wilson and the late Bill Nesbitt. Robert was educated in the public schools of Sumter County. He attended the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, South Carolina. Robert was a family man and spent the last ten years with his companion, Geneva Frances, who was loved by everyone in his family. Robert loved cooking and fishing. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Jean Harrison, Leila Pringle: and two brothers, Henry Wilson and Leroy Smith. Robert departed this life on Friday, December 23, 2022, in Sumter, SC. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his companion, Geneva Frances; three daughters, Roberta Taylor, Shavon Taylor and Shariff Taylor; three sons, Ernie Taylor, Eric Taylor and Arnold Taylor; three siblings, Willie Mae Cokley, Johnnie (Lee, Jr.) Cobia and Diane (Sammie, Jr.) Spann; brother-in-law, Chico Pringle; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Those of us left behind will miss his smile and his favorite quote, "Never lose your pride and dignity."
