Obituary Pressley McCray affectionally known as "Press" was born on April 14, 1960 in Sumter, SC. He was the son of the late Edward Joe and Alma Lee McCray.Pressley received his education in Sumter County School graduated with academic excellence from Hillcrest High School in 1978. Press dazzled others with his intellect, quick wit, competitive spirit and outgoing personality. He never met a stranger and didn't mind sharing his vast knowledge and opinions with others. Press served honorably in the United States Army for four years. Later he moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he worked as a personal driver and security guard. Press loved his family immensely although he was adventurous traveler. Press made sure to stay in touch with his family with a warm call or memorable text. Press was a good friend and mentor to many people. He will be sorely missed. Pressley was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He departed this earthly life to venture into a new home of eternal peace on Friday, January 3, 2020 in Rembert, SC after battling a brief illness. Press leaves to cherish his loving memories, grieve his passing and celebrate his homegoing; his wife, Sandra McCray of Camden, SC; daughter, LaWanda McCray (Robert) Smith of Rock Hill, SC; two sons, Pressley and Charles McCray of Camden, SC; five brothers, Charlie (Carolyn) McCray, Thomas McCray, William McCray, Leonard McCray and Richard McCray all of Rembert, SC; two sisters, Josephine Simon of Rembert, SC and Martha (Lewis) Ransom of Conway, SC; one aunt, Eunice Robinson of Baltimore, MD; nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
