Peter Jerry Wright, son of the late Theodore Wright Sr. and Hester Nixon Wright was born November 5, 1956 in Sumter, South Carolina. Peter was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and attended High Hills AME Church. Peter departed this earthly life on Monday January 1, 2024, at Lexington Medical Center, Columbia, South Carolina. In addition to his parents, Peter was preceded in death by six brothers, Harry Lee Nixon, Ransom, Sammie, Charles, Joseph Wright, and Theodore Wright, Jr. Peter leaves to cherish fond memories two daughters, Shawanda Wright and Rayneisha Wright of Dalzell, South Carolina; five grandchildren; five sisters, Elanore Littles, Lue Alice Singleton, Pamela Wright, and Orbedella Wright, all of Rembert, South Carolina and Carolyn Ansum of Atlanta, Georgia; aunts and uncles, Josephine Callahan and Dorothy Nixon, both of New York, Dorcus Williams, Emma (Lewis) Howard of Sumter, South Carolina, Dr. Roosevelt (Calpernia) Nixon of New Jersey, and Florence Glasco of Pennsylvania; special friends, Paulina Wright and Mary Snow; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
