Mrs. Peggy Marie Wallace Young was born on December 1, 1940, in Kingstree, South Carolina to the late Chester Wallace and the late Lucille Cooper Loney. Peggy accepted Christ and was a devoted member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Sumter, SC. She was a member of the Senior Choir until her health failed. Peggy was educated in the public schools of Kingstee, SC. She attended Tomlinson High School. Peggy was a loving, caring, family-devoted woman that was always helping others. She enjoyed sharing laughs with all those she encountered. On Friday, October 7, 2022, Peggy gained her wings and entered heaven. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Loney; stepfather, James Coney; father, Chester Wallace; daughter, Georgia Ransom; granddaughter, Billie "Peaches" VanBuren; grandson, Alphonza "Luther" Young; grandmother, Marie Cooper; brother, Cleveland Loney; and uncle, Benjamin Cooper. Peggy leaves to cherish her memories, her husband, Sergeant Alphonse Young; three sons, James Wallace, Benny (Lurnethia) Wallace, Alphonse Wallace; daughter, Sharon Wallace; step-son, David Young; sister-in-law, Peggy Loney; uncle, Walter Cooper; grandchildren, Harold (Cindy) Ransom, Michael (Lakeasha) Ransom, Fredrian Robinson, India Wallace, Shekeena Wallace, Alphonse McDaniel, Benny Wallace, Jr., Mario McDaniel, Marquise Ransom, Jasmine Ransom, Malik Ransom, Shanekwa (Robert) Dalton, Private Dajan VanBuren, Specialist Michael Ransom, Jr., Iycora Cooper, Dajanay VanBuren, Marlik Ransom, Kristopher Young-Gregg, Amar'e Davis, Asantea Wallace, Jr., Carson Ransom, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.
