Ordley Heatley, Jr. was born April 26, 1953, in Fort Motte, South Carolina and was the oldest child born to the late Ordley, Sr. and Janie Lloyd Heatley. Ordley was educated in the public schools of Richland County and graduated from Dreher High School. Later, he attended the University of South Carolina, where he earned a degree as a Master Electrician. Ordley served his country in the United States Navy, where he received an honorable discharge. "Jr." or "Heat Bread" as he was known to some of his family and friends, loved using his hands and doing the work he did with his hands. He was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins. Ordley met and married Carolyn Brunson Heatley, on September 5, 1981, at Beulah AME Church. In addition to his parents, "Jr." was preceded in death by three brothers, John Fred Heatley, James Daniel Heatley and Joe David Heatley; and one sister, Valerie Heatley Boston. Ordley Heatley, Jr. departed this life on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, peacefully at his home. "Jr." leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife, Carolyn Brunson Heatley; son, Ordley Heatley, III; daughter, Lawanda Celena (Kyen) Williams; six grandchildren, Kyen Williams, Jr., Jaylen Williams, Tanaya Heatley, Tanisha Williams, Tania Williams, and Tremeik Heatley; two sisters, Gloria Heatley and Rosa Lee Heatley; brother, Lawrence (Alfreda) Heatley; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, who will miss him dearly.
