Nancy Floyd Bradford, wife of Henry A. "Boo" Bradford, was born July 2, 1956 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Style, Sr. and Sarah Lee Gayle Floyd. Nancy graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1974. After graduating from high school, she was employed by several businesses, including working as a seamstress. In addition to sewing, Nancy enjoyed working with her flowers, taking care of people, and being with family and friends. Nancy was a member of High Hills A.M.E. Church. As a member, she served in many capacities, including the Women's Missionary Society and Usher Ministry. Nancy's love for sewing led her to open her own business, Wesmark Alterations, located in Sumter, South Carolina. She operated her business until her health failed. Even though she no longer operated her business, she continued to sew. She also made or altered wedding dresses and prom dresses. Nancy even directed weddings and served as caterer. Nancy loved cooking and baking. Her specialties included pigs-in-the-blanket, coconut pies, and fruit cakes. She also made other kinds of cakes. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Robert, Sr. and Lizzie Ester Bradford; brothers, Leroy, Style Jr., Roosevelt "Roland," Johnnie, George "Plucky", James, and Benjamin "Bully"; sister, Gracie Floyd Hunter; brothers-in-law, Robert Bradford, Jr., Stolley Waiters, Jr., Dave Gayle, and David B. English, Sr.; and sister-in-law, Juanita Bradford. Nancy Floyd Bradford departed this life on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Lexington Medical Center, Lexington, South Carolina. Nancy is survived by her spouse, Henry A. Bradford, Rembert, South Carolina; son, Delvin Bradford, Columbia, South Carolina; daughter, Daleta Bradford, Atlanta, Georgia; granddaughter, Staff Sergeant Jazmin Bradford, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; sisters, Azalee Floyd Gayle, Wedgefield, South Carolina, Evelena Floyd English, Dalzell, SC, Louise Floyd McCoy, Janie Floyd Hunter, Rosa Floyd, all of Hopkins, South Carolina; sisters-in-law, Lucille Bradford Waiters, Lila Bradford Dinkins (Riley), both of Rembert, South Carolina, Magnolia Miller Floyd, Florence, South Carolina, Beulah Dawson Floyd, Dalzell, South Carolina; brothers-in-law, Alexander "Butch" Bradford, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and James Bradford, Rembert, South Carolina. In addition, memories will also be cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives and friends.
