A Time to Be Born: Michael (Rell) Prothro was born in Sumter, SC, on September 23, 1982, to Betty Lesane McBride and the late Michael McBride. A Time to Learn, Work and Live: Michael was educated in the Sumter County Public Schools. He was employed at Central Carolina Technical College where he worked as a custodian. Rell, as he was affectionately known, will always be remembered as having a humbling spirit and always willing to help anyone. He enjoyed raising animals and loved his most precious dog, GG, just as if she was a human. The Love of His Life: Michael has been married to the love of his life for over 20 years, Lakida Harvin Prothro. Their union was blessed with a son, Daquan Harvin and a daughter, Mikieria Harvin. A Time to Die: On Sunday, January 29, 2023, he departed this life and entered into his eternal rest. In addition to his father, Michael was preceded in death by his grandparents, Berlese and Herbert Benjamin Sr.; Edward Moses and Dorothy McBride; aunts, Joan Wilson, Sandra Davis; uncles, Laverne Davis and Tyrone Benjamin.
