Obituary Mr. Matthew Hilton, Jr. was born December 18, 1934 in Manning, SC to Matthew Hilton, Sr. and Millie Ann Dingle Hilton.Mr. Hilton was educated in the public schools of Manning, SC. He was licensed as an engineer by the State of New Jersey in 1970.He was employed as a licensed engineer in Kerny, New Jersey for twenty-nine years. He was a charter bus driver out of Bayonne, New Jersey for eight years. After his employment he moved to South Carolina.He was avid motorcyclist, he also enjoyed playing pool,  the guitar and working in his  yard which he kept well manicured.He was an active member of St. Michael A.M.E. Church in Jersey City for twenty-five years, where he sang on the choir. He played the guitar with the Mt. Zion Wren Gospel Group for twenty years in Newark, New Jersey.Upon his return to South Carolina, he and his wife became active members of Trinity Missionary Baptist church in Sumter, under the leadership of Pastor Larry C. Weston for nineteen years. At Trinity MBC, he was a part of the Male Chorus. He returned to his home church Society Hill A.M.E Church in Manning in 2019.Mr. Hilton was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.He departed this life, Saturday, November 30, 2019 in Aiken, SC.Matthew leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Neatha Summers Hilton, a daughter, Rosemary (Sammie) of Orangeburg, SC; a son, Matthew Vashon (Cassandra) Hilton of Sumter, SC; six grandchildren, Quinton (Demicotivs), Lavora, Tarik, Aryonna, Abigail and Samari; three great-grandchildren, Dekota, Quinton, Jr. and Sophia; two brothers, Amos of Manning, SC and Leroy of Bridegport, CT; two sisters, Azalee (William) Mitchell and Ruth Hilton, a very special cousin Lottie Gray and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
