Obituary Mary M. Stavis the daughter of the late Joseph and Lottie Bennett Stavis was born October 30, 1919 in Sumter County, South Carolina.Mary attended the Sumter County Schools. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age and joined the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and later joined the Greater Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by twelve siblings.On Sunday March 29, 2015 at Sumter Valley Health and Rehab Home in Sumter, SC, God called Mary home to live forever in the land of endless delight.She leaves to cherish her memories; her children, Patricia Ann Sumpter (Nathaniel) and Andrew Stavis both of Sumter; sister, Louise Alston of Rembert; five biological grandchildren; Avery Wilson, Lorenzo Cannon, Lakeila Cannon, Valencia Sumpter and Lakeema Cannon; four step grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives and friends.
