Marvin Laws was born October 1, 1960, in Sumter to the late Elder David laws, Sr. and the late Mother Minnie Harris Laws. Marvin joined the Church of God by Faith at an early age. He loved giving praises unto God and was a faithful tither. Marvin was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and a member of the graduating class of 1979 from Sumter High School. Upon completion of high school, he joined the United States Army and served his country for sixteen (16) years. He was employed at OMNI for many years. Marvin, "Big Marv" has touched the lives of so many people and will be truly missed by all those who loved him. In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by, Willie George Harris, Albert Roberts, Randall Harris, David Laws and Kenneth Laws. Marvin departed this life on Saturday, October 29, 2022, in Sumter. Marvin leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, his wife, Marilynn Laws; stepson, Bruce Beacham; two sisters, Minnie (George) Rhodes and Lillie Jackson; two brothers, Byron (Peggy) Laws and Tyrone Balls; two sisters-in-law, Loretta Laws and Betty Dawson; his father and mother -in-law, William (Rosa) Youmans and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
