Martha Louise Haynesworth Glover was born on February 11, 1942, in Wedgefield, SC, to the late Bosie Haynesworth and Lula Fullwood Haynesworth. At an early age, Martha gave her life to the Lord and remained a faithful and devoted servant until He called her home. She attended Lincoln High School and earned an associate's degree in nursing from Sumter Technical College. For many years, she dedicated herself to the field of geriatric nursing, serving patients from Sumter, SC to Norfolk, VA, until her retirement. Martha had a heart as vast as the ocean and found joy in helping anyone in need. She had a steadfast love for her family and a sincere devotion to her friends, which naturally extended to all those in her community. Some of her favorite pastimes included cooking, gardening, sewing, and working on puzzle books. She took immense joy in keeping a spotless and well-organized home. Martha was preceded in death by her twin sister, Mary Lena Fullwood Easley; grandsons, Edward P. Haynesworth Jr. and Aaron Leon Claude Jr.; sister, Janie Mae Newkirk; and brothers, Carlyle Haynesworth, Algrie Johnson, and Harbee Johnson. Martha peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Martha is survived by her sons, Carlyle Haynesworth of Sumter, SC; Edward P. Haynesworth, Sr. of Bishopville, SC; Alphonso Haynesworth of Columbia, SC; Elie Jonathan (Aleisha) Glover of Philadelphia, PA; her loving daughters, Alfreda Joann Haynesworth of Sumter, SC; Christina (Brian) Mitchell of Suffolk, VA; grandchildren, Sheree Thomas, Easter Hayes, Katherine Anderson, Kenya Haynesworth, Terrence Haynesworth, Danarius Glover, Adonis Glover, Samuel Haynesworth, Marcus Haynesworth, Sierra Haynesworth, Lakeisha Hannibal, Tiffany Billie, Taylor Glover, Ta'Nyya Claude, Kristian Richburg, Brayden Mitchell; twenty-five great-grandchildren; sister, Daisy Blanding of Jacksonville, FL; her extended family, Brenda (Evans) Harris of Tarpon Springs, FL; Susan Washington of Wedgefield, SC; Miles S. Easley Sr. of Fredericksburg, VA; Camelia (Antone) Starke of Jacksonville, FL; step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other loving family members, friends and colleagues.
