Obituary

Marlon Antawn Fedd was born September 24,1972, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late John and Denise Lewis Fedd. Marlon began his education in Brooklyn, before his family moved to Cheraw, South Carolina, when he was twelve. He proudly graduated from Cheraw High School in 1990, forever embracing his identity as a Cheraw Brave. In high school, Marlon began what turned into a dedicated career in the food service industry. He worked hard and his commitment led him to become a Food Service Director at both the Stevenson and Lee County Facilities of the South Carolina Department of Corrections. Marlon took great pride in his roles as both a supervisor and a valued colleague. Unfortunately, declining health and ongoing challenges ultimately led him to early retirement. In recent years, Marlon faced significant difficulties, yet he remained resilient, never allowing them to dampen his spirit or shake his faith. A humble man driven by love and devotion, rather than the pursuit of wealth or fame, he approached every task, big or small, with commitment. Marlon's deep affection for his wife, love for his children, and joy in family and friends, allowed him to treasure every moment, especially the joy of being a grandpa. He cherished times spent laughing, dancing, singing, and simply enjoying the company of loved ones. Marlon was also an avid fan of New York sports, with a special passion for the New York Giants, which brought him immense joy and camaraderie with fellow fans. Marlon found immense joy in serving Jehovah. Although his faith was often tested, it remained unwavering. He was a remarkable individual, with the ability to bring laughter and positivity endeared to those who knew him. Marlon was a kind, meek individual, as long as you did not poke the bear. Marlon will be missed by those loved near and far because they were dear to his heart. Marlon was preceded in death by his father, John Fedd Sr.; mother, Denise Fedd; brother, John Fedd Jr.; stepdaughter, Valerie Patterson-Drake; stepson, Khalif Patterson; two nephews, Alfrendo Brice and John Fedd IV.; paternal grandmother, Elouise Fedd; and father-in law, Josh Alston Sr. Marlon peacefully passed away in the early hours of February 12, 2025, in his home in Lee County, South Carolina. Marlon will forever be remembered and loved by his wife, Lois Michelle Fedd; four sons, Marlon (Sabrina) Fedd Jr., Michael Fedd, Tyron Gregg and Maurice (Lataevia) Fedd; one daughter, Mya Fedd; two step-sons, Frederick and Terelle Harrison; stepdaughter, Tynasia Harrison; son-in-law, Derry Drake; nine grandchildren, Elijah, Vaniece, Romen, Kha' Marionna, Laniyah, Josh, Takiyra, Maliyah, and Tanyla; one great-grandson Siah, two brothers, Michael (Icelia) Fedd and Robert Fedd; three sisters, Eloise (Arnold) Griffin, Ella Mae Brice, and Takeisha (James) Leak; one niece, who was more like a sister, Daphne (Marion) Watson; two aunts, Jewel Williams and Thelma Lee Brown; one uncle, Jerome Fedd; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends that will continue to cherish his memories.
