Obituary This is a lesson learned from Malik. He not only wanted to dance in the rain, he danced in the rain. Malik had a few storms during his short life. He knew from experience that another storm would come on the heels of the one that just passed. If he hadn't learned to dance in the rain he might have remained dry and unfulfilled but because he learned, he was fulfilled.During a recent conversation with Malik's program director at Virginia College, she said to me; "He is growing up and excited about the next chapter in his life". More importantly, he wanted to prove to everyone that he could succeed and he wanted to make a better life for his son, King. Malik had found his gift to make the most of every day. We all came to appreciate his smile.Malik had come to terms with his own life. He listened to and was ready to take advice. He did not conform to social "norms" and was not a rebel. He was not rebelling against anything or anyone. He was a free-spirit who lived in the present but on his terms. He was a dreamer and a leader with followers. He could enter a room and brighten it with his smile, his attitude, or just his presence. He had "it." And I honestly believe he was at a place in his life where he was ready to make his "it" matter.Today we are broken hearted. This is a loss we could have never prepared for. We were not ready and are still not ready. He had so many dreams and plans for the future. He would have made his dreams come true. He achieved his goal of making us proud and of being proud of himself. Our lives will never be the same.Malik Sutton, 20, of Dalzell, died November 3, 2017, three days before his 21st birthday. He was born November 06, 1996 in Brooklyn N.Y to the of the Late James and Theresa Sutton. He graduated from Penn Foster High School in 2016. He was currently enrolled at Virginia College of Columbia majoring in Pharmacy Technician.Malik is survived by his mother; Theresa, his biological mother; Patricia, a son; King, nine siblings; Kim, Sabrina, James Jr., Louis Sr., Todd, Desiree, Shayla, Nyquashia, and Steffon, his girlfriend; Janessa and a host of aunts, uncles, brother-in-law's, sister-in-law's, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
