Lula Mae Spann was born August 22, 1944, in Dalzell, South Carolina to the late James, Sr. and Martha Parker Capers. Lula Mae was educated in the public schools of Sumter County, South Carolina. She was a faithful member of the Joshua Baptist Church in Dalzell, South Carolina. Lula Mae married Joe Lewis Spann on July 26, 1969. She enjoyed being outside to enjoy God's creation. Lula Mae also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as eating and dancing. In addition to her husband and parents, Lula Mae was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha C. Scott and Rosa C. Clea; three brothers, James Capers, Jr., Johnnie Capers and Walter Capers. Lula Mae departed this life on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in Florence, South Carolina. Lula Mae leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter, Sandra S. (Johnny) Gamble; two grandsons, Jaquan M. Gamble and Joseph M. Gamble; great granddaughter, Kensli Stuckey; three sisters, Ada (Jacob) Capers, Sadie C. (Otis) Lewis and Jeanie C. (Kevin) Hughes; three brothers-in-law, Charlie Clea, Otis Lewis and Kevin Hughes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends.
