Obituary Louise Stavis Alston was born December 12, 1925 in Sumter County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lottie Bennett Stavis.Louise was married to the late Josh Alston Sr. and they quickly started a family of their own.Louise was not a woman of many words, however she loved the Lord and she wasn't afraid to say so. She loved to sing and her favorite song was, "I know I've been changed."Louise was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church for many years, until she was no longer able to attend.She was preceded in death by twelve siblings with the last being her sister, Mary "Boot" Stavis; three sons, Charlie Alston, Josh Alston, and Joseph "Butch" Alston; grandson, Linzie Holder; daughter-in-law, Lois Alston; three granddaughters, Valerie Patters, Laura Jean Jenkins, and Jacobia English-Lane; and great-grandson, Omar Patterson.Louise departed this life on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the Sumter Health and Rehabilitation Center with a smile on her face.Louise leaves to cherish her memories six children, Eloise (William) Davis, Clara (Charles) Dennis, Barbara (Arthur) Alston, Laura English, Lenora (Frederick) Holder, and Queenie Chapman; thirteen grandchildren; fifty-one great-grandchildren; eleven great-great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lottie H.
