He was a member of Willow Grove AME Church. Everyone that knew Lewis, knew he was a quiet and humble man. If anyone needed anything Darrell was always willing to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed fishing and Drag Racing. Until his health failed, he was working in construction for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Waiters, Sr, a sister, Patricia Phelps. Lewis departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at his home in Horatio, SC. Darrell leaves to cherish his special and loving memories; his devoted wife, Frances Waiters; three children, Lawayne (Tamara) Miller, Keshia Benjamin and Travis (Keystonna) Benjamin all of Sumter, SC; a brother, James (Carolyn) Waiters of Anderson, SC; a brother-in-law, Anthony (Karen) Benjamin of Columbia, SC; special friend, Henry Bradford; three sisters-in-laws, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.   To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Lewis, please visit our floral store.
