Psalm 30:5, KJV Leroy Wells, son of the late Andrew and Evester Gass Wells, was born on June 2, 1957 in Sumter, South Carolina. Leroy Wells, attended the public schools of Sumter County. He later furthered his education through the Sumter County Adult Education Program. Leroy's Christian experience began at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and later in his life, he attended services at Tabernacle Holiness Church in Columbia, South Carolina. Leroy never met a stranger. He loved his family and friends and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone who was in need of his assistance. Leroy leaves his family and friends with precious memories that will forever live in their hearts. In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by three sisters, Pastor Shirley Holliday, Catherine Elaine Westley and Geneva Washington; one brother, Eugene Wells; one sister-in-law, Patricia Gass; and three brothers-in-law, Lindsay Washington, John Westley and Michael Frierson. Leroy Wells departed this life on Sunday, April 7, 2024 in Sumter, South Carolina. Leroy Wells leaves to cherish his precious memories, one sister, Jessie Mae Frierson, of Sumter, South Carolina; five brothers, Leon Gass, Jimmy Wells, and Anthony (Terrie) Wells, all of Sumter, South Carolina, Oliver Gass and Andrew Wells, both of Los Angeles, California; one aunt, Eva Mae (Raymond) Shivers of Sumter, South Carolina; two uncles, Eugene Gass of Richmond, Virginia and James Gass of Queens, New York; a special niece and care-giver, Sharon (Sheldon) Gass Holland of Sumter, South Carolina and a host of other, nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
