Laura Mae Sharpe was born May 5, 1946, in Sumter County, South Carolina to the late David and Early Winn Sr. She was married to the late James Sharpe Jr.; however, he preceded her in death on October 16, 2017. Laura accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, at the Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church. Later in her life, she joined the Jehovah Missionary Church, where she rededicated her life to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She joyfully served on the Missionary Ministry and she attended Bible study and Church School regularly. Laura was affectionately known as "Lil Gal". Laura attended the public schools of Sumter County. During her life she worked in the housekeeping department at Tuomey hospital, here in Sumter SC. Laura was a loving and caring mother. Even when she didn't have much, she wanted the best for her children. She loved cooking, and was great at it. Laura cooked the world's best macaroni and cheese. Glory! In addition to her parents and husband, Laura was preceded in death by her son, Ernest Lee Sharpe; great-granddaughter, Hazelynn Perry; two sisters, Francis Levine and Liza (Marion) Jefferson; four brothers, Frank Winn, Henry Winn, George (Lena) Winn and Harry Winn. Loved ones left to cherish Laura's memories forever are three children, Eugene (Loretta) Winn, Sr., Jeanette Winn, and James Edward Sharpe; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother, David Winn, Jr.; the best sister-in-law ever, Louise Winn; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
