https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/juliaette-blanding Juliaette Blanding was born September 21, 1936, in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Julius and Edna Earl Williams. At an early age, Juliaette joined Mt. Pisgah AME Church. She attended public schools of Sumter County and upon graduation became employed at Campbell's Soup, where she worked until she retired in 1993. In 1955, Juliaette married her longtime friend, Edward McCray. Later in life, she married Phillip Blanding Jr., and both preceded her in death. After her retirement Juliaette took that time to be a loving mother and grandmother. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She would always say, "I don't love one no more than I love the other." Juliaette especially loved her role as a grandmother. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. She made friends everywhere she went and left a lasting impression. Juliaette enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was a well-loved member of her community. Juliaette's life was an example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32, "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." In addition to her parents and husbands, Juliaette was preceded in death by two brothers, Willie (Bill) Williams and Phillip C. Williams. Juliaette passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Baptist Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina. Juliaette leaves to cherish her memories, four children, Valeria McCray, Vernita (Terry) Swinton, Phillip (Renee) Blanding III and Shawn (Sylvia) Blanding, all of Sumter, South Carolina; seven grandchildren, Rishard (Latisha) McCray, Shakeima (Leonard) Montgomery, Lolonzo McCray, Lai'a Blanding, Qay'Shawn (Ashley) Blanding, Devante (Tyeisha) Blanding, and Na'Jee Blanding; five great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
