Alston, Sr. He grew up in both Manhattan, NY and Rembert, SC. Joe loved to "Tinker" with cars or whatever he could get his hands on, he would "pull apart" anything that gears and switches. His naturally learned skills and abilities earned him an opportunity to attend Automotive High School in Brooklyn, NY. After Joe graduated, he came to the realization to live in Rembert where his family roots was started. Joe's first job allowed him to work alongside his uncle, Bob at Dupont Chemical Company and a few years later, he applied and accepted a job offer at Caterpillar INC, repairing and trouble shooting equipment. Also, during this time, he attended Morris College in Sumter, SC. Joseph was formerly married to Rebecca Mack. He had a beautiful smile and enjoyed watching sports, football and basketball were his favorites. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jason Alston. Joseph passed away at his home in Rembert, SC from a long-term illness on November 12, 2021. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Julia Alston McDaniel; two sisters, Patricia Alston (Luis) Gonzalez of Colorado Springs, CO  and Keitha Baker of New York; a brother, Anthony C. Alston of Rembert, SC; five aunts, Pearlie Mae Smith, Mary Ella Sherman, Marie Alston, Selena (Ray) Deas and Joyce Alston; a uncle, Ralph Smith of Ridgeland, SC; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
