Obituary Joseph S. Alston was born on August 6, 1951 in Sumter County, SC to Louise Stavis Alston and the late Josh Alston, Sr. husband of Lottie Huggins Alston.He was preceded in death by six siblings.God called and Butch departed this life on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Tuomey Hospital.Butch leaves to cherish his memories; his children, Joseph "Lil Joe" (Betty) Dennis, Laura Jean Jenkins, LaQuanda English and Shandel Porter of Rembert; mother, Louise S. Alston; seven sisters; Eloise (William) Davis, Clara (Charles) Dennis, Barbara (Arthur) Alston, Patricia (Nathaniel) Sumpter, Laura English, Lenora (Frederick) Holder, Queenie Chapman; stepchildren, Jacobia (Willie) Lane and Timothy English; twelve grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; special niece Dominique; and a host of other nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1:00 PM from Greater Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church 609 Miller Road Sumter, Bishop Marvin Hodge, Pastor, Officiating.
